The 2nd Annual Second Chance Prom - 3/25/17 @ Warehouse215

FAQ's

What exactly is the Second Chance Prom?
The Second Chance Prom is a unique charity event that replicates all the activities that take place at a high school prom, except this time it's for adults! Dinner, drinks, pictures, dancing - all for a good cause. Since no one deserves a second chance more than children with illnesses, we see it as a good tie-in for a charity event. Other activities include a silent auction and games, adding to the fun.
Who can come to the event?
The event is open to the general public. If you have a ticket, you're in! However, since the event will be serving alcohol, all attendees must be at least 21 years of age.
How many Second Chance Prom's have there been?
Last year (2016) was the first year we organized this event, making this our 2nd Annual Second Chance Prom. We had a great first year with 178 prom attendees and were able to raise $19,365 to donate to Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation.
How much of my ticket gets donated to the Phoenix Children's Hospital?
100% of the event proceeds will be donated directly to the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation (PCHF). After expenses, this equates to approximately 50% of your ticket price to be donated. The event will help raise money for the Hope Fund. The Hope Fund is the most flexible and valuable way donors can support Phoenix Children’s Hospital, allowing them to meet new challenges and take advantage of opportunities as they arise. The Hope Fund helps them launch critical new programs, purchase essential equipment, conduct cutting-edge research, provide charitable care, and much more. Many donors choose to support specific programs and services that meet their areas of interest and personal goals, and these gifts are valuable and essential to their mission. But the power of unrestricted giving through the Hope Fund is immeasurable. It ensures that support is available where and when it is needed most so they can continue to enhance the care they provide to their patients.
How do I get a receipt for my tax deductible contribution to PCH?
Upon purchase of your ticket(s), you will receive a receipt outlining your purchase. This receipt alone can be used for your tax deduction, however another form will be provided by the Phoenix Children's Hospital. Receipts from the Phoenix Children's Hospital will be mailed or emailed to you later in the year. Note, only the purchaser of the tickets will be sent this receipt and be eligible for the tax deduction.
How do I buy tickets and when do ticket sales end?
Tickets are being sold through our EventBee site. All major credit cards are being accepted through Braintree, a PayPal company. Payments via PayPal will also be accepted. Ticket sales will end three days prior to the event. Donations can be made right up until the event begins.
What's the attire for the event?
You’re going to a prom! The overall look should be fairly formal, but you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Keep in mind that there will be prom pictures available, so dress accordingly!
How exactly will the silent auction work?
Throughout the entire event you will have the opportunity to bid on several donated items. These items will range from hotel stays to gift baskets. If you see an item you like, simply bid on it by writing your name and amount you will pay on the clipboard in front of the item. You will be able to see who has already bid and how much they bid. Whoever has the highest bid at the end of the auction time wins the item. Payment for all auctions items is due by end of the event via credit/debit card.
What will be served for dinner?
This year we have paid special attention to the food selections and have hired a professional catering company to facilitate dinner. The buffet dinner will include two main entrees: Prosciutto-wrapped Chicken Breast (gf) & Braised Beef Brisket, an Arugula Salad (v, gf), Au Gratin Potatoes (v, gf), and Sauteed Green Beans with Garlic (v, vg, gf). Iced tea, lemonade, coffee, and hot tea will be provided at no cost. v = vegetarian, vg = vegan, gf = gluten free.
My event ticket comes with 2 drink tickets. What happens if I want more drinks?
Each drink ticket will get you one drink of your choice from the bar. After you've used your two drink tickets, it will be a cash bar with 10% of bar sales being donated back to PCHF.
Do I need to bring my printed ticket with me to get into the event?
It would definitely be helpful to bring your printed ticket, however it is not required to have it to gain entry. We will have a master list of all attendees. Please just bring your photo ID to verify your identity.
